The Smoky Mountain Air Show is coming back to East Tennessee!
The last time the Smoky Mountain Air Show was in the Smokies was in April of 2016. At the time, the event brought more than 200,000 people from across the country to see performances by aerobatic airplanes, stunt skydivers, and the Navy’s very own Blue Angels.
The legendary Blue Angels are headlining this year’s Smoky Mountain Air Show. Formed in 1946, they are the second oldest aerobatic team in the world. Their crowd-pleasing signature maneuvers, formations, and traditions bring spectators from over 30 locations throughout the United States, including here in the Smokies.
The Blue Angels aren’t the only ones that perform at the air show. In 2016 there were performances from the Navy Parachute Team, aerobatic instructor Greg Koontz, an F-16 Fighting Falcon, and more.
